Duties

The primary purpose of this position is: to provide cyber intelligence analysis and support to programs across the acquisition life-cycle (Acquisition Intelligence). Supports effective research, development, testing, fielding employment, sustainment and improvement of AF capabilities by identifying cyber related intelligence requirements and threats, resolving/mitigating deficiencies, integrating intelligence, and providing needed intelligence data and infrastructure in a timely and secure manner. Serves as a multi-source intelligence analyst engaging in the research, analysis, interpretation, and assessment of information obtained and processed from one or more intelligence sources in support of the acquisition life-cycle and customer requirements. Supports risk mitigation efforts in support of the program office by providing cyber threat and vulnerability analysis. Participates in the execution of Threat Assessments in support of Cyber Resiliency and Systems Security Engineering across the Acquisition Enterprise product life-cycle. Teams with the senior intelligence analyst for cyber and cyber analysts across the enterprise to develop, mature, execute, and report the results of Acquisition Intelligence related cyber threats and cybersecurity processes to inform program's Risk Management Framework (RMF), Authority to Operate (ATO) and accreditation activities. Serves as a program's action officer for cyber related acquisition intelligence requirements. Duties DUTY 1: Conducts Cyber Threat Assessments. Serves as an acquisition intelligence analyst for cyber threat intelligence support to acquisition programs. DUTY 2: Provides Intelligence Supportability and Cyber Resiliency Analysis to DoD/USAF Acquisition programs, systems, and processes. DUTY 3: Serves as a multi-source Intelligence Specialist for Cyber Threat Support. Conducts research, evaluates, analyzes and fuses multisource information from multiple intelligence disciplines (i.e., SIGINT, GEOINT, HUMINT, OSINT) to satisfy a broad range of customer cyber threat requirements. DUTY 4: Presents ISR capabilities to assigned program offices, service, national, and/or coalition customers. Applies knowledge of acquisition and IC cyber collection, analysis and production capabilities--to include awareness of the variety of intelligence databases, collection management processes, requirements management systems, IC roles and responsibilities, online intelligence documentation, and new intelligence technology developments--to ensure program cyber threat requirements are identified and potential solutions are provided by the IC.

  • A computer science or systems engineering degree is highly desired.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

Qualifications

This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Intelligence Series 0132, There are no Individual Occupational Requirements for this series. Use the Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions for this series. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include demonstration of a wide range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to report on and make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the intelligence cycle and intelligence policy and guidance, and the structure, organization, roles and missions, and inter-relationships of the national IC, DoD, and USAF, particularly as it pertains to cyber threat collection, analysis and production capabilities and limitations. Knowledge of acquisition policy and guidance and the role intelligence plays throughout a weapon system's lifecycle; Acquisition Intelligence analysis mission and strategy; and the roles and responsibilities of field intelligence offices in support of USAF research laboratories, acquisition program offices, and life-cycle management, nuclear, sustainment, and system testing enterprises. Knowledge of a comprehensive range of intelligence research methods, techniques, practices and analytical principles, concepts, and methods used to identify and analyze multi-source intelligence information to produce detailed cyber intelligence capabilities and cyber threat assessments, identify cyber-related intelligence deficiencies, and advocate for customers' cybersecurity requirements. Skill in conducting unbiased research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing intelligence requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of consumers', customers', and clients' cyber threat and cyber risk management needs. Skill in communicating clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, subordinates, contractors, academia, and other agencies to work out solutions to problems, prepare professional level documents and studies, and deliver General Officer (executive) level information and decision briefs. Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data, and make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and competing resources, based on mature judgment and experience and present and/or defend a position effectively. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
