You will serve as a FACILITIES SERVICES ASSISTANT in the PORT OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVWPNSTA SEAL BEACH.

Duties

You will maintain records to track marine equipment repair and operations of facilities. You will work with external organizations to coordinate services (e.g., repairs, hazardous waste handling) or safe operation of marine facilities. You will ensure the removal or safeguarding of recovery of supplies abandoned on piers. You will use computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel) to maintain an automated inventory of equipment or locations for instant ship berthing use. You will prepare berths to ensure that the appropriate brows or platforms are available for each type of ship.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with the proper berthing of ships at amphibious loading ramps; 2) Maintaining schedules for maintenance and/or repairs of marine facilities and equipment; and 3) Insuring ships dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with existing instructions.
