You will serve as a PURCHASING AGENT in the Public Works Division of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will utilize automated information systems and software programs, such as MAXIMO and Microsoft Office Applications.
You will track and maintain up-to-date the status of all requisitions and purchases.
You will leverage automated information systems to transfer data requirements.
You will utilize knowledge of material and equipment used in Public Works facilities, utilities, and transportation services.
You will maintain suspense files on purchases and requisitions submitted until all actions are complete.

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- You must be able to successfully complete required training courses (i.e.: Department of Defense Government Purchase Card training) specified in the most current versions of the GCPC regulations and as directed by the GCPC Agency Program Coordinator.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using a government purchase card as a procurement method for purchases following established rules, regulations, and thresholds. 2) Reviewing monthly statements for accuracy. 3) Maintaining and reconciling reports or data. 4) Applying Knowledge of various types of contracts, techniques, or requirements (such as Federal Acquisition Regulations) for contracting or procurement, and contract negotiation and administration. 5) Utilizing automated information systems and software programs, such as MAXIMO and Microsoft Office Applications. 6) Analyzing proposals received from vendors for supplies or services to determine if the purchase will be from a responsible source at a fair and reasonable price. 7) Applying supply and purchasing regulations, policies, and procedures.
