About the Position: Serves as a Social Services Associate for the U.S Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) Family Advocacy Program (FAP) staff. Works as an intake team member and case manager performing case management services and agency coordination in alleged and identified cases of child abuse, neglect, domestic abuse, and problematic sexual behavior in children and youth (PSB-CY).

Duties

Renders case management services for suspected PSB-CY referrals, child and spouse/intimate partner abuse, neglect, and sexual abuse. Maintains close coordination with Soldier's unit and monitors treatment participation and progress with designated treatment providers. Maintains appropriate case records according to standards of professional practice and incompliance with MEDCOM and local regulations. Interviews clients to provide information about Family Advocacy Program and the Incident Determination Committee (IDC) processes.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • All employees assigned to an MTF are required to be screened for applicable immunizations regardless of series.
  • Pre-employment physical exam may be required.
  • This position requires an initial Childcare background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on are gular and recurring basis.
  • Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification from the American Heart Association or Military Training Network.
