DON Pathways Internship Program You will serve as a STUDENT TRAINEE (ENGINEERING AID) in the Asset Management Branch of the Public Works Directorate of the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. Initial consideration for this announcement is limited to the number of applications listed at the top of this announcement (50). Duties

You will assist with scanning, conversion, edit corrections and archive filing of as-built and historical engineering drawings. You will make routine measurements, simple arithmetic computations and records specified data. You will make prints from computer aided drafting and design layouts using the version of computer aided drafting (CAD) software. You will conducts routine research for customer requested drawings contained in the archive drawing vault. You will make prints from archived hard copy drawings utilizing specialized large format engineering coping equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • Must be enrolled in an Engineering Program and/or IT related field. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • Must be willing and able to work a Part-time work schedule. A part-time work schedule describes work performed between 16 to 32 hours per week.
  • Must live or work within the commute area of the duty location(s) listed for this position.

  • Completion of 1 academic year of post-high school study

The required education must lead to a bachelor's degree with specialization in or directly related to the field in which the student trainees will receive training on the job. The degree of specialization in this field must satisfy on graduation the specific educational requirements in the qualification standard for the corresponding two-grade interval positions.
