This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Senate Office Buildings, Assistant Superintendent, Tenant Services Division, Wood Crafting Branch.
The incumbent performs a wide range of carpentry projects in support of the Senate Office Buildings.
Duties
Makes and repairs high grade wooden items such as cabinetry, furniture and decorative woodwork.
Selects, cuts, turns, shapes, joins, bonds, fits, assembles and decorates wooden materials and parts, using the full range of hand and power woodworking tools, machines and techniques.
Uses a wide knowledge of wood supplies and precision woodworking methods and their alternatives to plan and lay out their work from specifications, blueprints, rough sketches and verbal instructions.

Utilizes knowledge of and must comply with all OSHA safety rules and regulations to ensure that work progresses in a safe manner.
provides or receives training, either on the job or through classroom training, to ensure the utilization of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), etc.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
