You will serve as an Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic in the Facilities Sustainment & Services Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will perform installation of direct digital control systems (DDC) for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.
You will interpret engineering drawings that combine electrical and electronic schematics, logic diagrams, and mechanical drawings to trace signal flow throughout the system while troubleshooting malfunctions of systems.
You will troubleshoot direct digital control (DDC) to initiate adjustments.
You will improvise troubleshooting procedures for an environmental control system.
You will follow established shop and safety procedures when using hand or power tools to perform work on electronically controlled industrial equipment.
You will use computer systems to access and modify direct digital control (DDC) systems.
Requirements

- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

The Screen-out Element for this position is the ability to do the work of a Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic without more than normal supervision including: 1) Performing programming, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and Direct Digital Controls systems; 2) Using engineering schematics, computer generated graphics, and database information to determine system operations; 3) Applying knowledge of HVAC theory and design to diagnose problems with equipment; AND 4) Using hand and power tools to install control systems on various HVAC systems.
