Duties

You will serve as the civilian Deputy Public Works Officer in the Public Works Department (PWD) for Marine Corps Installations West. You will assign work to PWD subordinate supervisors and staff for the accomplishment of the command mission. You will lead and drive employee mentoring and workforce development; plan and organizes work and manage positions to ensure maximum productivity for funds spent. You will recommend internal and external programs and policies on issues affecting the organization. You will determine resources required to support program initiatives, including personnel and organizational structures. You will provide oversight of all PWD vacancies recruitment and hiring practices and ensure all unfilled positions are identified and fille expeditiously.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Supervising facilities planning, programing, design and project management; and manage time, attendance, and staffing the organization.
