You will serve as a PAINTING WORKER in the of Expeditionary Maintenance Center (EMC) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER.
Duties
You will independently perform related operations such as servicing batteries with distilled water or acid as required; performs lubrication to a variety of automotive equipment, special purpose vehicles.
You will clean vehicles in preparation for painting or undercoating.
You will perform simple disassembly's of automotive and construction equipment components and simple preservation operations such as steam cleaning, dipping and rough painting where appearance of surface is not a primary factor.
You will, under the guidance of a journeyman painter, assists in set up and adjusting and operating spray-painting equipment to include attached air compressors.
You will assist journeyman painter in mixing primer and applies with spray gun.
You will prepare metal surfaces for painting by removing old paint, rust, and grease using solvents, steam cleaning, wire brushes, scrapers and sanders.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: I have the ability to perform common tasks including; 1) masking and letter-stencil jobs; 2) removing grease, scale, rust, dirt, and old paint from surfaces so that coating materials will adhere properly; 3) applying fillers and base coats in accordance with specific instructions.
