Duties
This position is located under the Office of Intelligence Operations, Operational Intelligence Division, Denial Enforcement, and NICS Branch in Clarksburg, WV.
As a Firearms Specialist (Program Manager), you will be responsible for managing and investigating potential violations of the Brady Bill and serve as an ATF liaison to the Federal Bureau of Investigations regarding National Instant Criminal Background System (NICS) investigations and firearm background check denials.
As a Firearms Spcialist (program Manger), GS1801-14 you will perform the below duties:
Qualifications
You must:
Meet all qualification requirements,applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service by 10/25/2024
To qualify for GS- 14, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13
Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized experience include:
Providing technical and investigation assistance to field personnel concerning background check data; AND
Assisting in utilizing the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) to investigate and analyze firearms regulatory records; AND
Researching criminal histories, compile court documentation, and initiate appellant referrals to the appropriate personnel.
