About the Position: This position is for the Saint Paul District.
Duties
The incumbent utilizes practical knowledge of engineering methods and techniques to perform the following office engineering and quality assurance duties associated with construction contract management and administration.
Reviews specification packages to ensure that all applicable administrative requirements are appropriate for the project/installation. Active member of the Project Delivery Team (PDT).
Serves as the construction coordinator and liaison between construction offices and govern mentor architect/engineer firms and personnel for the receipt, review, and dissemination of RFI's, shop drawings and submittals.
Processes construction administration actions necessary to fiscally close out construction projects within established time standards.
Tracks and reports labor charge breakdown for construction staff between direct and indirect charging.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting all of the following: 1) Provide construction input on drawings and/or specifications during design stages; 2) recommend changes to submittal registers, shop drawings, certifications, materials, etc. to ensure conformance with requirements such as: dimensions, tolerances, clearances, fits, finishes, and/or materials; and 3) Experience with government contracting process including pre-bid activities, modification process, and/or closeout activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10) or equivalent level.
