Duties
This position is located under the Office of Field Operations - Programs, National Center for Explosives and Training Research (NCETR), National Fire Academy, Fire Investigation & Arson Enforcement Division (FIAED) Fire Programs and Training Branch,located in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
Qualifications
To qualify for GS-14, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13.
Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized experience include:
Understanding of policies, procedures, investigative techniques, judicial requirements, and jurisdiction training, protocols, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to ATF's criminal enforcement responsibilities; AND
Understanding and proper application of strategies for a wide range of operational activities; AND
Assisting with forecasting budgets, reviewing and revising training material and curriculum, and providing short- and long-range goal projections for the FPTB; AND
Familiarly with all matters pertaining to arson enforcement field operations, to include policies, procedures, responsibilities, and objectives for both enforcement and administrative issues.
Certified Fire Investigator experience is preferred but not required.
