Duties
You will troubleshoot problems, perform maintenance, and complete repairs on equipment and depot repairs.
You will operate (set up, select appropriate interface device, connect cables) Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) to test and troubleshoot various components.
You will install, test, and repair units of systems in various ordnance and mobile platforms.
You will conduct rudimentary to middle level programming/networking during configuration and verification of systems with data-digital capability.
You will use the full range of tools typical of the electronics trade including, but not limited to, drills, wrenches, soldering irons, micro-soldering and use test equipment (ATE, oscilloscopes, signal generators, frequency counters, etc.).
You will assist system engineers and field support personnel in developing de-bug, modification, diagnostic, installation and servicing techniques for older and newer systems.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Normal color perception is required.
- Good vision and hearing, with or without artificial aids is required.
- Must be able to stand for frequent/prolonged periods.
Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time

I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including troubleshoot, repair, replace, test, calibrate and install non-complex communications systems and their subcomponents including but not limited to HF/VHF/UHF data systems. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
