You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the Operations Department (N42A1) of NAVMAG INDIAN ISLAND.

Duties

You will perform Quality Assurance (QA) oversight, inspections, and audits on ordnance receipt, storage, segregation and issue (RSSI) mission. You will ensure that processing, handling storage, renovation, preservation, and packaging or ordnance is in compliance with safety requirements. You will manage the Quality Assurance (QA) program at Unit Indian Island. You will develop written instructions and procedures that support quality assurance of all production and processes. You will prepare reports, statistical and narratives as required. You will perform on-site inspections to observe work methods to assure compliance with safety practices.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing quality assurance inspections of missile and ordnance operations (processing, handling and storage) to determine quality and adherence to regulatory compliance. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: Completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)
