The primary purpose of this position is to perform a full range of standard clerical assignments related to flight training operations for the organization. Directs aircrew members to scheduled simulator missions and maintains records in support of training and equipment.
Duties
Supports flying training operations.
Compiles and maintains records related to aircrew training and simulator utilization.
Enters data and/or information into an automated system.
Receives and directs telephone calls or visitors.

- Incumbent is subject to work other than normal duty hours, which may change daily due to simulator work schedules.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of general experience, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of general experience includes progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates my ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position.
OR
EDUCATION: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: : A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position, only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the policies, practices, and procedures of the full range of standard clerical responsibilities related to supporting flight training and simulator operations.
2. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and maintain aircrew information and equipment records and/or logs for training devices.
3. Knowledge of filing systems and procedures and the subject matter content of the materials being processed.
4. Skill in basic computer operations to include retrieval and input of data; a qualified typist is not required.
5. Ability to recognize source documents used and to associate those documents with the appropriate program controls and transcribing procedures.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
