About the Position: Serves as an Operations Research Analyst supporting decision analyses to inform Army leadership on issues in the materiel, personnel, training, and doctrine domains.
Position is located in Fort Moore, GA.
Duties
Conducting analyses for various projects and studies, utilizing new approaches to evaluate systems through analytical studies.
Performing research, systems analysis, project planning, statistics, and modeling methods.
Ensuring technical quality control of all studies and analyses.
Providing guidance on analytical methodologies and procedures.
Developing criteria for analyzing systems and total system trade-offs.
Utilizing and maintaining automated data processing systems
Identifying areas for further study and analysis.
Reviewing analysis methods and completeness of conclusions.
Applying advanced operations research techniques to studies.
Coordinating extensive projects and establishing effective relationships with customers and team members.
Organizing and leading teams in studying complex issues and problems.
Designing and building complex models and using them to simulate real-world environments.
Articulating and negotiating complex issues with officials of diverse perspectives.
Having knowledge of a range of analysis methods, models, and tools.
Producing analytic reports, visualizations, and briefings.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET Security clearance.
- A three year probationary period is required if requirement is not already met.
- The incumbent will be required to travel TDY approximately 10% of the time.
- Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.

Basic Requirement for 1515 Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) applying analytical techniques and methods to plan, coordinate, and execute studies of systems and/or their sub-systems; 2) applying operations research methodology to analyze weapons systems AND 3) developing evaluation requirements when testing proposed systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DB-02/GS-11).
