About the Position: Located in a high profile, fast paced environment. Develop and sustain a level of professionalism among staff and clientele. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. Telework is situational and in accordance with local policy. Parking at WRNMMC is very limited and is primarily first come, first serve. The use of commuting alternatives is highly recommended.
Duties
Receive high-ranking visitors from both the military and civilian communities, to include members of Congress and the press media, in person and telephonically.
Manage/assist staff with travel documents/itineraries; coordinate or prepare travel orders using an automated system, such as the Defense Travel System (DTS).
Prepare correspondence, compile reports, manage taskers, and utilize office automation software.
Create, process and coordinate civilian awards. Schedule civilian award ceremonies, ensuring appropriate personnel are notified.
Develop briefing materials or presentations for leadership utilizing office automation software (e.g. Microsoft Office suite).
Make recommendations to leadership/supervisor regarding changes in office policy, procedures, format or correspondence.
Enter data into time and attendance systems; respond to employee inquiries on time and attendance and payroll issues.
Serve as focal point for receipt and review of incoming tasks, special projects and correspondence.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative support functions, such as: preparing correspondence, compiling reports, and utilizing office automation software; assisting in preparing presentations and briefing materials; processing, and coordinating awards; and assisting staff with travel documentation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources or Health Care Administration. (You must attach a copy of your transcripts with your application package.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
