Duties
Coordinates business rules and requirements for DoD business areas concerning accounting, disbursing, commercial pay, and people pay.
Conducts extensive analysis, review and study of program goals and priorities in support of DFAS organizations.
Conducts agency level research to determine if solutions to business needs currently exist within or outside the current operational model, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible.
Reviews and analyzes DFAS business practices to ensure compliance with DoD and DFAS policy.
Communicates and interprets operational priorities for each organization order to analyze effective business solutions.
Provides input to the development of formal operational cases when enterprise-wide operational solutions are proposed.
Maintains a repository of business rules, systems interfaces and test requirements against which alternate solutions can be assessed.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience is defined as: Applying expert knowledge of financial management principles as they relate to automated systems processing and finance operations; planning and implementing process improvements relative to large-scale accounting and financial operations, systems, policies, and procedures; and providing high-level financial systems expertise to senior leadership to help them carry out financial missions with allocated resources. Demonstrates experience in leading projects by planning organizing, and scheduling to achieve successful outcomes.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.
