YOU WILL SERVE AS A SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER IN THE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPT, E3 ENGINEERING DIV, UAS AND INTEGRATED SYSTEMS IN THE E3 ENGINEERING BR OF NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
If selected, your salary will be set according to the established control points of this position which is equivalent to GS-14, Step 10: $139,395 - $181, 216.
Duties
You will serve as the Branch Head of the UAS and Integrated Systems E3 Engineering Branch and is responsible for supporting the Division Head in the leadership and management of the competency.
You will ensure systems Electromagnetic (EM) compatibility for all NAVAIR aircraft, weapons, training, and support systems including establishing E3 design requirements, test requirements, performance criteria.
You will review work conducted by engineering teams, manages and coordinates resources to support the innovation, integration and implementation of technical initiatives.
You will continually monitor, review, and evaluate strategic factors, both internal and external to the organization.
You will support the strategic planning effort for the E3 Engineering Division, contributes to the budget documentation to support E3 initiatives and prepares justifications for major expenditures for equipment, facilities and manpower.
You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
You will plan work and prepare performance plans covering work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in, and mastery of, advanced concepts, theories, principles, practices, methods, and techniques of E3 engineering; 2) Knowledge of and experience in assessment of naval aviation needs and capabilities and translating these into direction for E3 Engineering Competency capabilities; 3) A proven ability to tailor and integrate engineering products and services with logistics and other program disciplines to achieve a successful system acquisition; 4) Knowledge, skills, and ability to supervise personnel, administer management policies and procedures, and to coordinate functions between various groups to accomplish the goals of the national E3 Engineering Competency. Ability and skills for directing multi-disciplinary professional team efforts; 5) Broad Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) as they relate to E3 Engineering; 6) Competence in the E3 engineering discipline sufficient to provide management and technical direction of the assigned workforce, processes, products, and facilities; 7) Must have a thorough understanding of the interrelationships of the professional disciplines involved in naval aviation that is sufficient to meet the needs of customers including IPTs, EDTs and ETs and to ensure the technical integrity and accuracy of technical services provided; 7) Practical knowledge of other scientific and engineering disciplines.

Education
Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
