Duties
You will be in the Littoral Warfare Training Center providing work that involves identifying, analyzing, and resolving conventional information technology (IT) problems and situations.
You will apply skill in operating systems software principles and methods, concepts, principles, methods, and practices.
You will manage network architecture, topology, and protocols to recommend redesign or improved adaptation of policies.
You will apply systematic troubleshooting techniques, conducting system tests and evaluations using systems diagnostic equipment tools and fault identification techniques.
You will maintain audio and video formats, internal distribution, and limitations to provide real time capabilities for exercise participants.
You will perform system administration methods to integrate systems components and performance tuning tools to optimize systems performance, reallocate resources.
You will recommend components to improve overall systems performance; of systems integration methods, and test and evaluation methods and procedures to plan and coordinate the installation of new products or equipment.
You will assess the integration of new and emerging information technologies and industry trends in the areas of audio equipment, video display equipment, network system components and if operating systems to assure effective capabilities

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Determines test procedures and evaluates test results; and recommends changes necessary to overcome deficiencies or realize improvements.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Assists customers in troubleshooting exercise and operational networks to include interface with tactical communications equipment.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Operates the briefing and interfaces with customers as required to facilitate presentations, briefings, conferences, classes, and ceremonies and provides expertise in multimedia support.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Test and analyze computer malfunctions to resolve physical operating problems.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Identifies the technical requirements applied to the design, development, implementation, installation, management, and support of systems and networks; provide customer advice and assistance to customers on the optimal use of the facility infrastructures audio/video capabilities; determines and evaluates possible approaches and develops courses of action in collaboration with other technicians and supervisors.

CERTIFICATIONS:
This position has been designated as a Cyberspace Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) work role of Technical Support Specialist proficiency level Intermediate and, as a condition of employment, the incumbent of the position is required to obtain and maintain qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, February 15, 2023 and supporting Department of Navy policies.
This designation requires the incumbent to:
1. Obtain the foundational qualification within nine months and the residential qualification within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in DoDM 8140.03 for DCWF role of 411 Technical Support Specialist proficiency level Intermediate. For more information, please review DoDM 8140.03 and supporting DON policies.
2. Participate in continuous professional development program as described in DoDM 8140.03. An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous professional development must be documented and completed in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.
Continuous professional development begins in the fiscal year after the employee has obtained both foundational and residential qualification requirements.
3. Acknowledge responsibilities in writing via command designation letter.
Failure to meet a condition of employment may result in disciplinary and/or adverse action up to removal from federal service.
Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
- I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or
- I have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree or
- I have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
