Duties

Serves as the Fleet Manager/Aircraft Configuration Control Manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Aviation Program Office. Responsible for fleet-wide compliance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and associated Department of Defense (DoD) country of origin restrictions. Maintains a continuous awareness of the country of origin for all components in the SUAS fleet that are powered by electricity. Serves as the USACE representative on OSD Waiver Boards and meetings. Incumbent is the USACE resident expert on the state of SUAS technology, country of origin compliance, and capabilities.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • TDY may be required up to 10%.
  • Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing long-term strategies for fleet management and configuration control, aligning them with the mission and objectives; 2) Implementing policies to enhance the safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance of the aircraft fleet; 3) Ensuring aircraft are available when needed, minimizing downtime, and optimizing resources for efficient operation AND 4) Briefing senior leaders on program and project status and significant developments. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Aviation OperationsDecision SupportPlanning and EvaluatingProject Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
