Duties
Assist in the selection, measurement, and proper use of housekeeping and cleaning supplies, and the use and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.
Manage housekeeping budget.
Maintain standards and requirements by making continuing inspections to test and evaluate hospital housekeeping techniques, procedures, and products.
Ensure that contractor provides quality and timely work performance.
Evaluate performance against contractual requirements.
Identify actual and potential deficiencies in contract and contractor schedules.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Required to travel by commercial aircraft in performance of duties.
- This position is mission essential is subject to recall to effect needed repairs or to render assistance in emergency matters.
- Must be certified in the handling, transportation, and disposal of Regulated Medical Waste or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring the linen, waste, and recycling programs in a Medical Treatment Facility and assisting in preparing contracts, reports and strategic plans to help resolve cleaning and laundry issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
