You will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator in the Southwest Region Fleet Transportation, Motor Transportation Opers Unit of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will operate a variety of trucks and tractor trailers You will operate vehicles on public roads, rough terrain, improved and unimproved roads. You will operate transportation, construction, or other mobile equipment. You will operate power take off equipment. You will ensure the proper loading and securing of cargo. You will perform operator level maintenance on assigned vehicles. You will complete trip tickets and accident reports (if needed). You will perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections and report identified issues. You will transport weapons and ammunition.

• You must possess and maintain a Class "B" Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) . A copy of your CDL should be provided with your application.
• You obtain and maintain CDL tanker, endorsement within 90 days of entry of duty.
• You must obtain and maintain a CDL passenger endorsement within 180 days of entry on duty.
• You must possess and maintain a forklift license 4K. You must obtain and maintain a forklift license above 10K within 90 days of entry on duty.
• You must complete all assigned training and obtain and maintain all required licenses and certifications for all assigned equipment.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
