About the Position: This position is located with the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, in Fort Stewart, Georgia.
Duties
Segregates items according to condition code as necessary.
Verifies items received against turn-in documents.
Assembles items for shipping according to information on receiving vouchers.
References Federal Stock Class to identify items requiring technical inspection.
Operates electric, gasoline, or diesel powered forklift truck in order to lift loads weighing under 10,000 pounds.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation.
- This position has a requirement to lift items up to 40 pounds in the regular performance of duties. The incumbent may occasionally lift heavier items with assistance.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position requires incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain any installation or Department of Defense license required for forklift operation within agency mandated time frames.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Materials Examiner and Identifier without more than normal supervision to include 1) Identifying a wide variety of items by visual observation to determine the physical condition; 2) Using a computer terminal or other electronic device for handling inventories and information to record receipts, stockage, and issues; and 3) Operating a forklift to move materials or items from one location to another. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official.

Physical Effort: Work requires extensive standing, bending, stooping, and lifting weighing up to 40 pounds is required. May occasionally lift heavier items with assistance. During research of technical manuals or microfilm, extensive reading may cause eye strain.
Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily inside a warehouse and occasionally in outside areas. Work area is cold, drafty, or hot. Subject to possible injury when lifting or moving materials.
