Duties

This position is located under the Office of Field Operations, Special Operations Division, Dallas SRT/Detroit SRT, located in Lewisville, Texas and Redford, Michigan. The incumbent serves as the Regional Special Response Team (SRT) Supervisor assigned to the Special Operations Division, Office of Field Operations; however, physically located in the field. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating the regional SRT, and directing all of its related activities, including training and deployment, as well as coordinating activities in a regional, interregional, or national response. The incumbent supervises special agents, who are tasked with performing substantive criminal investigative and tactical operations. Major duties:

To qualify for a GS-14, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13.. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized Experience is: Providing accurate information and guidance regarding procedures (i.e. arrest and processing; arrest principles); and handling of evidence and dangerous material; AND Applying relevant laws, regulations and policies to investigative resources and techniques (i.e. ATF Giglio Policy); AND Communicating orally and in writing (i.e. reports and briefings); AND Evaluating and measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of tactical operations; AND Providing tactical advice or guidance on enforcement activities; AND Negotiating and collaborating with others (i.e. interacting with other law enforcement agency (state, local or federal).
