THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This ND National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number D1600000 and is part of the ND G6, National Guard.
Duties
As a Supply Technician, its purpose is to monitor and maintain accountability of all accountable property equipment and components within the organization.
Maintains an accurate automated accounting and reporting system of accountable property equipment and components within the organization.
Conducts accountable property reconciliation.
Prepares procedures and conducts annual inventories.
Maintains contact with appropriate personnel to resolve inventory problems within responsible area.
Maintains program files and ensures accurate submission of reports and reconciliation to the proper organizations in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Processes all requests for equipment loan(s) to and from organizations and activities external to the immediate organization.
Maintains section technical library of publications, manuals, backup disks, warranty cards, etc. Ensures adequate information is maintained on all accountable equipment.
Receives technical specifications from C4 Specialists to ensure production support for items requiring special handling.
Contacts vendors to arrange service under warranty or maintenance contract.
Determines stock replenishment for supplies and other material within funding limitations.
Collects and processes hazardous materials in accordance with applicable regulations and local standard operating procedures as needed.
Requirements
- NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the ND National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the ND National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the ND National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposition is mandatory.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted (E8 and below) and Warrant Officer (CW5 and below)
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have the experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions. Experience using computer and automation systems/programs to input, track, and pull data.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have the required one year of specialized experience at the GS-6 grade level or civilian equivalent, which includes; 1) Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment, 2) Conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts; and 3) Experience coordinating with other offices/sections to complete supply issues and transactions.
