The primary purpose of the position is to provide economical, timely and quality programmable/computer-controlled Conveyer Systems, Industrial Plant/Robotic Equipment, and Real Property Installed Equipment installation, maintenance, and repairs for the production squadrons and host tenant organizations.
Duties
Perform mechanical installation, maintenance, repair of programmable/computer-controlled conveyer systems, robotic and industrial plant equipment, and real property installed equipment.
Perform tasks of various skills that include electrical, mechanical and pipefitting repairs.
Install and assemble piping, fittings, and accessories/components to high- and low-pressure liquid lines, vacuum lines, heat exchangers, hydraulic lines, heating and cooling coils and numerous other high/low pressure systems.
Plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, guides, codes, and work orders, in the installation maintenance, and repair of programmable/computer-controlled conveyer systems, robotic and industrial plant equipment, and real property installed equipment and facilities.
Use and assure proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing.
Maintain bench stock levels of parts, materials, tools, and equipment at prescribed levels.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-4700 General Maintenance And Operations Work Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work requires considerable bending, kneeling, standing, and stooping. On-Site work typically requires crawling, climbing on ladders, scaffolds, and rooftops. Work encompasses strenuous physical exertion when bending and shaping the more complex items in handling larger and bulkier material. Requires physical effort which includes prolonged standing on production lines; climbing up and down ladders and scaffolds; working cramped and awkward positions while installing items; and reaching, lifting, and bending while using hand and powered tools in uncomfortable positions for extended periods. Is frequently required to perform heavy lifting in excess of 25 pounds with human or mechanical assistance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee works both indoors and outdoors, on elevated structures, and in cramped areas. Subject to discomfort from face masks or other protective devices when there is a possibility of exposure to chemicals, heat, steam, noise, noxious gases, fumes, or acids. Occasionally works outside on top of buildings, in drafty attic spaces, and in cramped areas with low overheads. Subject to possible burns, electrical shocks, cuts, strains, bruises, and chemical irritations. To reduce dangers from these and other similar conditions follows prescribed safety practices and use safety equipment such as safety glasses, hard-toe shoes, respirators, hard hats, and fire-retardant gloves. The incumbent maybe required to wear ARC Flash Rated clothing.
