THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This National Guard position is for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1259000 and is part of the FL SMO, National Guard.

Duties

As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, GS-1152-07, you will establish plans, schedules, and control the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment such as combat vehicles, heavy-duty engineering and mobile equipment, tracked vehicles, towed and self-propelled artillery, communications and electronic equipment, guided missile systems, and small arms. Implement maintenance plans and monitors progress of accomplishments. Provide status of equipment, maintenance actions in progress, and location of equipment. Input data regarding work order information, status changes, supply updates, and other pertinent information. Make on-the-spot adjustments to repair priorities on routine or reoccurring processes necessitated by unscheduled maintenance requirements. Study directives, modification work orders, and regulations as to their application in the unit. Assist supervisory personnel in determining impact of these requirements on shop capability. Modify production planning to accommodate these requirements. Conduct initial and long-range planning pertaining to routine production processes, mechanical skills, availability of test and diagnostic equipment, repair parts, and other factors influencing the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment and readiness reporting. Designate and maintain current maintenance repair priorities by Force Activity Designator, pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes (ERC) A, B, and C equipment type, available funds, commander's priority, state/national priorities, (in the case of floods, fires, and mobilizations) and unit supported. Authorize the acceptance of equipment for repair; monitor work priorities, status, and completion of work orders and requisitions; and provides status of repair parts. Assist supervisory personnel regarding readiness, Class 9 (CL IX) funding, production problems and work planning. Assist in the resolution of problems encountered between scheduled or unscheduled production or priority requirements. Provide assistance to ensure that Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTO&E) or Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) reportable Line Item Numbers (LIN) are properly managed, reported and accounted for with respect to readiness reports, property accountability reports and system management. Based on guidance received from the supervisor or higher graded production controller, prioritize resources to ensure the highest level of readiness in support of training and mobilization requirements of supported units. Work with other sections within the organization to ensure equipment readiness reports are correct and submitted in time to meet Department of the Army (DA) reporting suspense. Analyze repair methods and recommend control procedures to ensure that accomplishment of programs meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities. Coordinate with units and other support activities concerning the delivery, status of repair operations, and/or pick up of completed work orders.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.

  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLARNG BUS Code NG5022: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. MILITARY GRADES:Enlisted/Warrant Officer; E1 thru WO1. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 Must have at least 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level of experience, education or training working with people from various levels and backgrounds; experience with a general knowledge of the functions and procedures of production control, records, references, and techniques for developing production control data; experience assisting or maintaining workflow.
