Duties
You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist with the responsibility for planning, planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT software systems and applications.
You will work in a team environment with the primary responsibility for a major IT system under a senior information technology specialist.
You will program, write, debug and maintain code, maintain and use knowledge of Java, .NET computer programming language in the development of computer programs.
You will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycles and translate system requirements into application prototypes.
You will participate in systems requirement reviews and coordinates with subject matter experts or functional personnel to clarify requirements.
You will review and recommend to management approval or disapproval of all significant deviations from previously approved automated systems.
You will analyze and resolve system or software failures and causes of failures to identify and implement preventative measures.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
GS-09:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge and experience in all facets of software development lifecycle (SDLC) design, programming and testing. Knowledge and experience of programming languages C# and JAVA and/or Knowledge and experience in Software audit/security.
GS-07:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge in all facets of software development lifecycle (SDLC) design, programming and testing. Knowledge of programming languages C# and JAVA and/or Knowledge in software audit/security.
