Duties
You will control fuel movement through the distribution system.
You will utilize various types of communications as they apply to pumping operations and the movement of fuel products.
You will operate various pumps and accessory equipment.
You will monitor the transfer of fuel.
You will perform routine fuel distributions system preventive and operator level maintenance.
You will perform general maintenance.
You will collect fuel samples.
You will perform all operator safety and filter effectiveness inspections on fuel servicing equipment before, during, and after fueling operations.
You will comply with safety procedures and fire prevention principles.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- The worker must be able to obtain a government vehicle operator's permit and be able to obtain and maintain a valid state Class "B" commercial driver's license with Hazardous Material and Tanker endorsements.
- The worker must successfully complete Medical Surveillance Program evaluations related to this position.
- The worker must successfully complete mandatory training requirements for this position.
- The worker must possess reasonably acute color vision, hearing, and smell. *Hearing prosthetics (aids) are permitted if required.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: conducts operator level quality surveillance of fuel products, fuel distribution system, etc.; and maintains records of issues and receipts for inventory accountability and billing.
