About the Position: This is a Health System Administrator position located in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Serve as Supervisory Health System Administrator of the Quality Management program including medical management and evidence-based practice, risk management and clinical privileging. Ensure the data collection and reporting activities meet the scope and requirements of regulatory agencies. Analyze data to identify systematic problems and/or improvement opportunities based on published national standards that can be used for educational purposes to reduce or prevent undesired outcomes. Establish and implement long and short-term policies and budget execution plans. Provide first level supervision to program managers within the Division which includes physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience implementing a wide range of principles, concepts, and methodologies related to healthcare quality and/or management systems performing one or more of the following; 1) responsible for personal committees for long or short term execution or allocation 2) management of funds and resources 3) resolve complex health care administration issues 4) develop innovative methods to enhance efficiencies or resolve deficiencies in a health care delivery system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
