You will serve as a Training and Curriculum Specialist in the Marine and Family Services Division of MCAS BEAUFORT SC. Duties

You will develop and implement training for child development center staff. You will execute the standardized child development training program. You will maintain training records and prepare reports and recommendations for the supervisor. You will arrange and provide initial 40 hours of training for all program assistants (caregivers). You will monitor the performance of staff in their daily assignments to ensure established policies are adhered to. You will assist customers and communicate positively in a courteous and considerate manner.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing and implementing training for child development center staff; maintaining training records, preparing reports, and making recommendations to supervisor on necessary classroom needs; and developing operational policies and procedures based on directives from higher headquarters. Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Applicants must possess
  1. Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.

    or

  2. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above.
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education, as follows:

2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree

or

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
