Duties

Receives, sorts, and routes incoming mail to approximately 100 or more distribution points by organizational designation, name, subject, etc. Screens outgoing materials to assure that they are in proper format and assembled and addressed in accordance with appropriate regulations Makes regular and special trips to deliver and pick up classified and unclassified mail and documents. Periodically reviews filed material in the light of ongoing programs or special projects and accurately determines if material should be consolidated, have new classification, or be retired. Maintains file plans in accordance with agency regulations so that local requirements may be met and inspections passed satisfactorily.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to walk and stand while loading, unloading, sorting and routing mail; recurring lifting and carrying of packages, pouches, or bags of moderate weight and occasional lifting and carrying of other materials up to 50 lbs and over.
  • Must be able to perform up to 5% of temporary duty (TDY) travel.
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination prior to appointment and annually thereafter.
  • Must submit a Financial Disclosure Statement (OGE450) at time of appointment and annually thereafter.

B. I have successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. I have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have some education above the high school level but less than required in B. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.).
