About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. Duties

Assign work repairing industrial equipment to meet mission requirements. Demonstrate to workers the proper work methods to perform maintenance on industrial equipment. Examine production equipment for their final inspection of completion. Recommend solutions to meet engineering requirements. Evaluate preventative maintenance trends to eliminate malfunctions. Plan short and long-range use of resources to meet mission requirements. Investigate low productivity to recommend modifications in work operations

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • You may be expected to travel (TDY) in this position up to 10% of the time for business purposes.
  • Obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
  • A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Must successfully complete the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months of being assigned to the position.
  • A Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 is required upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
  • Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
  • Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
  • Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Industrial Equipment Mechanic Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the common Industrial Equipment Mechanic Supervisor duties which includes explaining the proper materials, equipment, or parts that are required for repairs. I can demonstrate how to interpret guides such as blueprints, sketches, and technical manuals to perform maintenance or repairs; providing quality control review of performed repairs for industrial equipment; and troubleshooting to diagnose malfunctions. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to ensure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
