You will serve as a FAP COUNSELOR in the MARINE CORPS COMMUNITY SERVICES of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR.
Duties
You will provide screening, crisis intervention, clinical case management, individual, marital, group and family treatment to those experiencing or at risk for family violence.
You will direct service activities include services for victims, perpetrators and families to protect victims and teach families alternatives to violent behavior.
You will conduct individual, marital, group and family counseling using various complex techniques.
You will screen, evaluate and provide counseling for individuals as indicated by interviews and assessment methods based upon expert research in associated fields.
You will facilitate training programs and seminars focused on both prevention and intervention.
You will plan, develop and implement programs designed to foster positive healthy relationships within the family structure.
Requirements

- Must possess a valid clinical license to practice independently as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Psychologist (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
- Must have A minimum of two years of experience providing services to families experiencing family violence to include the dynamics of domestic violence and child abuse.
- Must have professional knowledge of the theories, principals and application of counseling psychology, human development and social work or psychological methodologies in order to treat clients presenting with a variety of needs.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing screening, crisis intervention, clinical case management, individual, marital, group and family treatment to those experiencing or at risk for family violence; providing comprehensive counseling and case management services and professional knowledge of the theories, principals and application of counseling psychology, human development and social work or psychological methodologies.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
