You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Combat Systems Division, Engineering and Planning Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will perform engineering and planning services and guidance as part of a team or a project lead.
You will prepare engineering instructions and procedures required to execute complex projects on electronics and combat systems equipment.
You will perform ship checks, develop Job Summaries, Abbreviated Job Summaries, Task Group Instructions, order special and standard material, and prepare test procedures.
You will provide technical guidance and prepare procedures including resource requirements, duration and allowances for conducting installation and operational tests.
You will prepare specifications and provide direction for the procurement of special material and services associated with assigned projects.
You will review drawings, material specifications, test procedures, and other documents pertaining to assigned projects to ensure technical adequacy, compliance with specifications, and quality requirements.
You will provide job planning services to prepare work definition documents and apply work standards to estimate costs and man-hours for the most efficient production effort.
You will identify and resolve problems encountered during installation, grooming, or testing phase of waterfront production efforts.
You will coordinate and direct all assigned Combat Systems testing and coordinate efforts of shops and Ship's Force in accomplishing the test.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to perform occasional sea duty.
Qualifications
For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical engineering methods and practices to plan and coordinate production projects (e.g., develop job summaries, procure material/services, estimate cost/manhours, prepare test procedures); and analyzing work processes and technical work documents to develop recommendations for improvements for the efficient and economical repair and maintenance of shipboard electronic or combat systems (e.g., sonar, navigation, launcher, combat control, or alignment systems.)
For the GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical engineering methods and practices to plan production projects (e.g., review job summaries, procure material/services, estimate cost/manhours, prepare test procedures); and analyzing technical work document processes to recommend areas of improvements for the efficient and economical repair and maintenance of shipboard electronic or combat systems (e.g., sonar, navigation, launcher, combat control, or alignment systems.)
