Duties
Responsibilities of the Deputy to the Director of the Financial Assistance Agreements Management Division, include:
Executive Leadership and Accountability providing executive leadership and accountability to subordinate senior managers and staff.
Managing Federal financial assistance agreements for NIST and other Bureaus under the Department of Commerce, using grants and other transactions authority.
Advising NIST, Department leadership, and other senior officials on matters related to Federal financial assistance programs.
Exercising leadership in the formulation and promulgation of Department-wide and NIST policies and regulations governing the Department and NIST financial assistance programs using grants and OT authority.
Providing functional management oversight over the Department and NIST grants programs.
Providing vision, leadership, advice, and guidance in the development and execution of GMD services and programmatic improvement activities.

Qualifications
To qualify, applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 (ZA-IV for NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience in leading and driving change within a sizable organization, providing executive leadership and direction for human resources and administrative management functions within the organization, coordinating the implementation of Federal-wide or Departmental grants policies and regulations and completing a strategic review of the organization's structure, ensuring it is adaptable to emergent program needs, staff development, and other organizational requirements.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
