Duties
These positions are located in Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area in the Administration and Communications Division.
Duties include but are not limited to the following.
Prepare and reconcile budgets for assigned divisions and/or programs (formulation and execution).
Maintain credit card logs and records for various assigned users and reallocate charges to align with budgets.
Make approved purchases and acquisitions following appropriate policy, rules, and regulations.
Assist with timekeeping and travel arranging as needed.
Provide excellent customer service related to budget, administration, and general business practices.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. At the GS-06 level, your work is designed to prepare you for higher-level assignments, and as such, you will have examples to follow, receive detailed instructions on approach, specific deadlines, and your work is subject to review while in progress.
Promotion to the full performance level is neither guaranteed nor implied and will be based solely on your ability to satisfactorily perform the work of the position, existing work at the higher grade level, and recommendation by the position's supervisor.
Physical Demands: The work is mostly sedentary.
Working Conditions: The work is performed in an office setting.
The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for occasional telework or during an emergency or natural disaster with prior supervisory approval.

Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will be paid if the person selected for the position is from outside the local commuting area and is otherwise eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses under the Federal Travel Regulations.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-10/21/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the number of hours worked per week, full-time, or part-time. If you indicate part-time, you MUST indicate the number of hours worked per week so that your qualifying experience can be prorated for credit. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience.
For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each Federal position being used towards experience, as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience.
For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing activities such as the following: (1) assisting with preparing and reconciling budgets; (2) handling payroll and/or travel arrangements for employees; (3) making purchases and tracking credit card transactions; (4) performing general administrative functions in an office environment (greeting visitors, mail, filing, etc.). You must include hours worked per week in your resume.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing activities such as the following: (1) preparing and reconciling budgets; (2) providing technical assistance to others in formulating and executing budgets; (3) handling payroll and travel for employees; (4) making purchases and tracking credit card transactions; (5) performing general administrative functions in an office environment (greeting visitors, mail, filing, etc.). You must include hours worked per week in your resume.
Volunteer experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
