About the Position: Serves as Chief, Tribal and Cultural Resources Section of the Omaha District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Is responsible for planning, budgeting, and directing all functions of the Tribal and Cultural Resources Section. Interprets tribal trust responsibilities and federal historic preservation laws policy and regulations.
Duties
Provides coordination and resolution of tribal policy consultation, tribal relationships and cultural resources management, compliance issues, and conflicts regarding Federal, state, tribal laws, regulations, and rules.
Coordinates all required cultural compliance and maintains liaison with offices, parks, councils, groups and agencies.
Promotes and implements higher headquarters' tribal stewardship and cultural resources compliance policies directives and guidance by consulting and coordinating with agencies.
Responsible for all functional activities of a team of archeologists and Tribal Consultants.
Reviews Section progress and productivity, approves schedules, and ensures timely completion of work assignments.
Requirements

- May be required to perform travel/temporary duty (TDY) 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes provides Tribal consultation or coordination OR cultural policy compliance AND develops program or project schedules and budgets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
