Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-09 level, you must have one of the following:
1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level defined as assisting in the advisement of travel and payroll regulations, procedures and policies; preparing travel documents and assists in making various types of reservations (e.g. hotel, airfare, car, etc); monitoring and assist in the processing and/or review of timecards.
master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; the education must provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position
equivalent combination of education and experience
To qualify for the GS-11 level, you must have one of the following:
1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level defined as advising others of travel procedures and regulations, analyzing different itineraries to decide which is the more cost efficient option; develop and provide recommendations on new and/or existing travel and time policies and procedures; advising & troubleshooting on payroll & timecard issues.
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related; the education must provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position
equivalent combination of education and experience
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of Federal travel operations, regulations and policies.
Skill in oral communication.
Skill in analyzing and managing travel and transportation reimbursements and appropriated funds.
Knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to fiscal management, financial reporting and pay and leave systems.
Skill in utilizing time and attendance payroll systems to process timesheets, corrections or changes in an employee's pay/accounting information.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
