You will serve as a Security Assistant (OA) of NAVAL WEAPONS STATION YORKTOWN SECURIT.

Duties

You will perform and/or monitor standardized aspects of established security program operations. You will assist and guides staff in the procedural work of the office and in the preparation of correspondence. You will review documents for conformance with regulations, grammar, format and special policies You will ensure that all references and enclosures are properly identified and attached appropriately to correspondence and briefing material, assemble and collects data as required. You will receive calls, greet visitors, and directs calls and visitors to appropriate offices or person needing their attention and/or action. You will Utilizes appropriate Customer Service skills ensuring needs are met in a timely manner. You will compose correspondence relating to the Non-Guard Physical security policies; maintains files, revises and disposes of files of incoming and outgoing correspondence in accordance with governing regulatory procedures.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing and/or maintaining security documents and records; 2) Procuring and/or managing supplies to ensure sufficient supplies and compliance with regulations; 3) Analyzing administrative functions to evaluate efficiency and make recommendations for improvements; 4) Utilizing office automation software to prepare reports in the correct format.
