About the Position: This position is a Military Technician position with the 3rd Medical Deployment Support Command, G-4 Office, 3rd Mission Support Element located in Forest Park, Georgia. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Duties

Conducts staff visits to ensure units are fully compliant with logistic directives. Advises on logistics status and support required for subordinate units to achieve and maintain an effective operational readiness stature. Utilizes logistics and financial systems to monitor, input and track supplies, equipment and status of funds. Maintains fund control for allocated funds. Initiates request for various service contracts relating to logistical support. Coordinates activities concerned with supply distribution and utilization of unit equipment. Directs policies concerning transportation and movement of equipment and material to meet unit mission requirements. Recommend the order of expenditure requests based on unit requirements. Assists in the development of plans and instructions to integrate logistical support of operations in areas of supply, service, maintenance, transportation and food service. Provides reports to leadership on the status of logistical support provided. Maintain liaison with higher-level management to ensure effective logistical support.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) managing logistical programs to ensure full utilization of resources; 2) developing plans to integrate logistical support of operations in the areas of supply, service, maintenance, transportation, and/or food service; 3) conducting staff assistance visits and inspections to subordinate units; 4) providing reports to higher echelons of command; 5) utilizing current logistics and financial systems to monitor, input, and track supplies, equipment, and status of funds; and 6) developing budget data to support supply, services, maintenance, transportation or food service funding requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Advanced Supply Chain Management, Business Law, and Service Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
