You will serve as a SOCIAL SERVICES ASSISTANT in the Personal & Professional Development Branch, Marine & Family Programs Division of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will oversee computer lab services and will be responsible for the organization of lab information.
You will utilize various software programs to assist in clients' skills assessment.
You will interview clients to determine their transition needs and provide appropriate assistance.
You will assist clients in various computer programs needed to assist with their transition needs.
You will assist clients with resume building and interviewing techniques.
You will develop lesson plans to teach and develop client's in various areas needed for a successful transition including, but not limited to, resume building and interviewing techniques.
You will be responsible for various administrative and clerical duties needed to run a successful transition program.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You are required to possess and maintain a current state driver's license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Interviewing and speaking to customers/clients in order to assess their individual needs; developing lesson plans for training workshops (i.e. Resume building, Interview Techniques); assisting customers/clients with resume building and interview techniques; utilizing various software applications to assist customers/clients.

Education
Some Applicants may also qualify based on education OR a combination of education and experience, in lieu of the one year of specialized experience listed above, through ONE of the following:
One full year of graduate education meets the requirements for GS-7
OR
Possess a combination of specialized experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal 100 percent. Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
