About the Position: Serves as the Physical Security Officer for the Headquarters U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC).
Duties
Serve as command’s Physical Security and Law Enforcement subject matter expert, monitors and provides readiness oversight and recommendations.
Provide assistance and oversight of law enforcement role in the execution of the installations force protection mission.
Analyze and evaluate current projects, budget, resources, organization, etc.
Serve as the command’s Contract Officer Representative and subject matter expert for the contract security guard program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Requires Top Secret with SCI, Tier 5 Clearance.
- Requires drug screening.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and the Physical Security Certfication (PSC) within their first two years of employment.
- The employee must be prepared to travel extensively by air and/or vehicle;
- operate a motor vehicle requiring knowledge of pertinent regulations and directives governing the use of motor vehicles, and work irregular hours when required.
- TDY occasionally to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of this position.
- TDY Travel may occasionally be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes: develop, implement, and manage the Command Physical Security (PS) Program; provide technical oversight and support for Law Enforcement and Physical Security; develop Physical Security policies and procedures; oversee contract employees; monitor access control program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
