About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US Army Cyber Command ACOFS, G2 Security Division, located at Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Serves as a multi-discipline Security Specialist in the US Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER), Directorate of Intelligence (G2), providing application, guidance, and instruction on new regulations, policies, and procedures for multiple security programs.
Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for multiple Army Security programs, to include Industrial Security (INDUSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), and Information Security (INFOSEC).
Responsible for co-managing the Command’s Information Security (INFOSEC) Program to include the National Capital Region (NCR).
Plans, develops, and implements security requirements within the ARCYBER information security program.
As a Special Security Representative (SSR), monitors and coordinates with the ARCYBER G2 Special Security Officer (SSO) for changes affecting electronic security systems (ESS), TEMPEST and physical accreditations.
Collaborate with ARCYBER G6 for information system (IS) accreditations within Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) to include NCR facilities.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence (CI)-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a periodic basis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency/Defense Intelligence Agency-accredited facilities and networks. [Military External Affiliates Division (MEAD) Security In-Processing (SIP) process.]
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 30% or less.
- Shift work, irregular tours of duty, and/or overtime may be required.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- Two year trial period may be required.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience managing multiple Security programs, to include Industrial Security, Personnel Security, and Information Security; developing and overseeing implementation of command security policies; and administration of SCI security program and oversight of SCIF design and construction, movement of SCI equipment and information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
