The primary purpose of this position is to plan, implement, administer, and counsel on the Fleet and Family Readiness Support Division Programs (FFSP) concerning work and family life issues including information and referral (I&R), and assist Navy leadership, military personnel and their families in managing the competing demands of the military mission and family.
Duties
Incumbent serves as a non-clinical consultant on a wide variety of work and family life issues and concerns. Interviews, assesses clients' needs and concerns, evaluates and interprets data received from interviews, and provides advice, guidance, and additional referral options to clients
Will create and implement procedures to monitor, track, and document service effectiveness and success, develop referral policies and procedures between the FFSP, the base, military and civilian agencies.
Maintains close liaison with off base agencies, establishments, advisory councils, and special emphasis groups.
May be required to serve as non-clinical consultant/instructor in one or more of the following specialty areas: Career Resource Development, Transition Assistance, Relocation Services, Personal Financial Management, and/or Command Representative and Marketing
May be required to participate in emergency response activities as outlined in the installation emergency action plan, including extended working hours
May be required to go onboard naval vessels to provide training, including underway periods of up to two weeks
May be required to work occasional evening and/or weekend hours

Requirements
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
Qualifications
Knowledge of social services delivery systems delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories relating to one or more of the social or behavioral science fields to assess needs and concerns of clients
Skilled in conducting interviews to establish the nature and extent of concerns or issues
Must be skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact, diplomacy in interacting with Commands, individuals, families, military, and community agencies, and FFSP staff
Experienced in use of various computer software database, spreadsheet, word processing, and network programs
Understanding of military service and culture preferred
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
Education
Associates degree or higher in education, social/behavioral science, business administrations, finance, economics, travel and tourism, marketing.
OR a combination of education and experiences equivalent to an associate's degree or higher in education
