This position is located at Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of Inspector General, Office of the Chief of Staff. As the Chief of Staff, you will perform a wide range of ongoing sensitive assignments and conduct complex special inquiries, projects, and investigations at the direction of the Deputy Inspector General.

Duties

As the Chief of Staff, you will: - Serve as a trusted advisor and resource, and as a critical link in the communication between OIG leadership, OIG staff and stakeholders. - Provide oversight and executive leadership for a variety of assignments in connection with the management and activities of the OIG. - Make legislative and policy recommendations based upon research, analysis and the evaluation of expert information. - Oversee and direct the administrative components of critical program segments, various internal projects, and key high-level organizational elements which have a direct influence on the OIG mission. - Represent the IG, Deputy IG, and Assistant IGs in dealings with Department-level managers within HUD, as well as other governmental departments, members of Congress, Congressional committees, and key Congressional staff members, when delegated. Provide close coordination with numerous high-level representatives to resolve conflicts, persuade them to take action to support the OIG mission, and to facilitate the accomplishment of OIG priorities.

Please be advised that the individual selected for this position will likely require certification by a Qualifications Review Board conducted by OPM, prior to receiving the SES appointment. ECQ 4 Business Acumen: This core qualification requires the ability to manage human, financial, and information resources strategically. ECQ 5 Building Coalitions: This core qualification requires the ability to build coalitions internally and with other Federal agencies, State and Local governments, nonprofit and private sector organizations, foreign governments, or international organizations to achieve common goals. ***Each of the following essay competencies address the Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs). Your responses are required for each of these MTQs.*** MTQ 1: Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic plans, initiatives, and communications to accomplish target enterprise performance goals. MTQ 2: Demonstrated experience leading comprehensive oversight programs, and implementing innovative processes, methods, and approaches to continuously improve oversight operations. MTQ 3: Demonstrated experience collaborating with senior leaders to develop complex work products and communicate the results of agency work, and demonstrated experience justifying conclusions, reports, and results to stakeholders.
