This position supervises activities within the Maintenance and Operations of Facilities Management Service and is responsible for the overall performance of the Electric, Elevator Repair, and Electronic Shops.

This incumbent must have knowledge of laws, codes and standard governing facility management, electric work, and elevator work such as NFP, NEC, MP-3, MP-5, EPA, state laws and be able to interact with all types of regulatory agencies these include EPA, VISN staff, OSHA, joint commission and VA central office
Install, modify, maintain and repair/replace generation and distribution equipment in substations power generating facilities, transformers, and distribution centers.
Clean, adjust, and repair electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, remote control supervisory equipment and telemetering equipment
Construct and install rigid conduit systems Pull in conductors, assemble bus bars, and phase out and connect conductors.
Troubleshoot distribution circuits, generating equipment, and controlling equipment to locate and correct the causes of outages and improper operation. Make emergency cutouts and substitutions of power lines and equipment.
Assist the Project Section by visually check the work of contractors for compliance with NEC and facility standards.
Program and monitor electronic control equipment and operate computerized diagnostic equipment and digital test equipment as part of high voltage electrical system maintenance and troubleshooting.
Work Schedule: M-F 0630am-3:30pm

Physical Requirements: Work will require repairs at equipment locations but other duties may require work at a bench. This may be in hallways, laboratories, heating and cooling plants or outside during inclement we in bad weather; in work areas that are noisy, dirty and greasy, on scaffolding or at heights of 30 feet or more Work could be done in close quarters such as manholes attics or crawl spaces. Occasionally the incumbent may be exposed to the possibility of injury from falling electrical, shock burns and rotary devices such as electrical motors. they are frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises.
