You will serve as a Emergency Response Dispatcher of COMMANDER NAVY REGION MARIANAS.
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 12.04% will be added to the stated salary.
Duties
You will receive emergency and non-emergency requests by telephone, mobile radio, mobile data computers or automatic alarms throughout the Navy Region.
You will receive, analyze and disseminate information from an unlimited number of contracts for many purposes.
You will screen incoming communications and prioritize emergency/ non-emergency calls and situations.
You will make immediate decisions during emergency situations regrading initial deployment of personnel.
You will provide appropriate post-dispatch and pre-arrival instructions and maintain knowledge of all response resources available.
You will maintain communication with on-duty Public Safety personnel in accordance with established procedures.
You will conduct operational checks of communications and telephone equipment and notes discrepancies in accordance with established procedures.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You may be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- Must be capable of obtaining Department of Defense (DOD) certification as a Telecommunicator I within 90 days of entrance on duty.
- Must be capable of obtaining certification for “Hazardous Material Awareness” within 90 days of entrance on duty.
- Must be capable of obtaining a Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within 90 days of entrance on duty.
- You will be required to successfully complete the RDC Training Program including classroom and on-the-job training.
Qualifications
GS-06
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1.) Receiving emergency and non-emergency requests by telephone, mobile radio, mobile data computers or automatic alarms; 2.) Maintaining constant liaison with the scene of the emergency to include fire, security and medical supervisors; 3.) Receiving, analyzing and disseminating information from an unlimited number of contacts; 4.) Maintaining communication with on-duty public safety personnel. 5) Providing instructions to caller during an emergency situation.
GS-05
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1.) Receiving emergency and non-emergency requests by telephone, mobile radio, mobile data computers or automatic alarms; 2.) Maintaining constant liaison with the scene of the emergency to include fire, security and medical supervisors; 3.) Receiving, analyzing and disseminating information from an unlimited number of contacts

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
4 years above high school
