About the Position: This Security Specialist is located at White Sands Missile Range, G-2 at White Sands Missile Range, NM. WSMR is the DoD's largest, fully-instrumented, open air range, provides America's Armed Forces, allies, partners, and defense technology innovators with premiere research, development, test, evaluation (RDT&E), experimentation, and training facilities (merit). Duties

Serve as Force Protection, Physical Security Officer and Information Security Specialist for the White Sands Missile Range G2. Maintain and implement the security elements of the WSTC Emergency Action Plan. Write, update and administer security Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) for an assigned White Sands Test Center (WSTC) directorate. Authoritative point of contact for all inspections conducted by local and higher headquarters. Manage the Velocity access control system for the WSTC. Review, coordinate and process the required user documentation for System Access Authorization Requests (DD2875).

Requirements

  • This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
  • You will be asked to sign an agreement acknowledging that you are aware of the obligation and willing to be displaced under reduction in force procedures upon the return of the former incumbent.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check may be required.
  • Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually.

OR Education: Four years of study leading to a bachelor's degree. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
